iPhone 15 to come with colourful braided USB Type-C cable

Apple is preparing to launch its next-generation iPhone 15 series next month, with rumors suggesting a release date of September 12. The series will include four smartphones: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. A recent leak has uncovered an intriguing detail about the upcoming iPhones. Reports indicate that Apple might replace the lightning port with a USB Type-C port on this year’s iPhones. The leak suggests that Apple could include special color-coordinated USB Type-C cables with the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models. Another prototype collector, “Kosutami,” has also confirmed seeing these colorful USB Type-C cables. According to the leaks, these cables will have a plastic shell on both ends and feature braided USB Type-C cables with strain relief tubes.

MacRumors has reported that Apple plans to introduce the cables in white, black, yellow, purple, and orange color options to match the iPhone 15 series. Meanwhile, well-known insider Mark Gurman reveals some specifications for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. These models are rumored to have a titanium frame, slimmer bezels, and a possible replacement of the mute switch with an Action button. Both smartphones are expected to be powered by Apple’s own A17 Bionic chipset. Across all iPhone 15 models, there are reports of a USB Type-C charging port being in development.

In contrast, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models are speculated to come equipped with the A16 Bionic chipset. Additionally, the highly acclaimed Dynamic Island functionality is expected to expand to cover the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models. Alongside these upgrades, Apple is projected to enhance the camera system on the iPhone 15 by introducing a 48MP primary sensor.
